Welcome to Love4Lungs. We’re so glad you’re here.
We are dedicated to extending and improving the lives of those affected by ALK+ Lung Cancer.
ALK+ lung cancer is a disease that can strike anyone, including healthy, young, non-smoking individuals.
The first group of patients has already received the vaccine. On May 13, 2024, Dr. Lam and his team administered the first dose in the world’s first ALK+ cancer vaccine clinical trial, a groundbreaking Phase I/II study now underway to evaluate safety and effectiveness in people receiving ALK-targeted therapy. This is happening right now, but we need funding to begin additional trials. Every contribution moves us closer to this goal.
Please donate if you can, or consider partnering with us as a corporate sponsor.
Clinical trials
The ALK gene is a normal part of everyone’s DNA. But in some people, a random, spontaneous mutation occurs—called ALK positive (ALK+). This mutation, which is not inherited or caused by lifestyle, can trigger lung cancer in anyone, regardless of age, health, or smoking history.
It’s unpredictable. It usually shows no early symptoms. And for most, diagnosis doesn’t happen until late stages.
What is ALK Positive Lung Cancer?
Scientists estimate that about 72,000 people worldwide are diagnosed with ALK+ each year—but awareness remains alarmingly low. The cause of the mutation is still unknown.
Why It Matters More Than Ever
Lung cancer is by far the leading cause of cancer death in the US
Accounting for about 1 in 5 of all cancer deaths.
Lung cancer kills 1.5× more women than breast cancer.
Most with no history of smoking.
Lung cancer kills 3× more men than prostate cancer.
And it’s still the least funded major cancer.

We rally behind those turning hope into progress.
Our mission is to use the power of media and storytelling to raise awareness, fund research, and accelerate the development of a life-saving vaccine.
Help Fund the Cure
We envision a future shaped by medical breakthroughs, like vaccines that strengthen targeted therapies and change the course of the disease.
Through community and creativity, we’re rewriting what’s possible for people living with this disease.
Audrey's Story
In August of 2024, I was diagnosed with Stage IV ALK+ lung cancer. I had no symptoms, and I’ve never smoked. I was completely blindsided. In fact, I wasn’t even feeling sick, just dealing with some hip pain that I assumed physical therapy could fix.
How could someone healthy, active, and a non-smoker be diagnosed with such a serious disease, especially at stage four, with hardly any warning? I had just celebrated my 50th birthday with a roller skating party at the local rink that spring. It made no sense. One moment I was planning a trip to Disney World, and the next I was wondering if I’d be here by Christmas. To make it harder, I found out about my diagnosis just days before my dad passed away. For my family and me, it was incredibly difficult. We were living in a nightmare and were terrified… honestly, we still are.
About us
Love4Lungs began in 2024, after Audrey was diagnosed with stage IV ALK+ lung cancer. With the support of her husband, Michael, and her brother, Philip, she decided she couldn’t just be a patient — she wanted to create change. Drawing on Audrey’s experience as a television producer and rom-com author, Michael’s background in advertising, and Philip’s experience in content ecosystems, we set out to use our media and storytelling skills to amplify voices, break stigma, and support life-saving research.
When Audrey learned about Dr. Vincent Lam’s work at Johns Hopkins — especially his ALK+ peptide vaccine trial designed to prevent or delay resistance in advanced ALK+ lung cancer patients — she felt hope.
Love4Lungs was born from that hope.
Our Commitment
The majority of all proceeds are directed to The Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center, supporting Dr. Vincent Lam’s research on ALK+ lung cancer.
Love4Lungs amplifies the fight against ALK+ lung cancer by supporting Dr. Lam’s pioneering research and by creating media projects, awareness campaigns, and patient support initiatives that drive real-world impact.
